Whistle Stop Preschool

Whistle Stop Preschool began in 2005 as an outreach to the growing community of Aledo. Our goal is to be of service to families by providing a safe and fun place for your child to prepare for kindergarten. We offer classes for ages 2, 3 and 4.  School starts the day after Labor Day and finishes the Thursday before Memorial Day.

We have experienced teachers and staff who help each child develop emotionally and socially using Christian principles and values. We spend time working on simple motor skills with specific attention given to letter, number and name writing. We also touch on basic mathematics and counting, focus on identifying uppercase and lowercase letters and learning phonics as well as computer skills (age appropriate).

Children are taught developmentally appropriate skills through traditional curriculum, learning-centric play, and Bible lessons. In addition to the structured lessons, we offer creative indoor play, outdoor playground time and music on a daily basis. One of our church deacons, Mr. Jay, leads the students in songs and a brief Bible story for chapel one day a week. We also perform hands-on activities such as cooking, drama and science projects.
